Petrol or Diesel?
The Citroen Berlingo Van is available with a 1.6L petrol or 1.6L diesel engine. Each offers a responsive, enjoyable drive combined with low emissions and fuel consumption. Both engines are coupled with a 5-speed manual transmission for maximum efficiency.
Exterior
The exterior design offers a large well shaped and easily accessible load area. The twin glazed rear barn doors can be matched with optional sliding side door/s for easy access from every angle. The 180º/90º opening 60/40 split rear doors are equipped with innovative hidden hinges for clean uninterrupted lines.
Wide front, rear and side mouldings assist in protecting the exterior and an optional roof-flap can be equipped to allow for longer loads while keeping the rear doors closed. There is also ample rear body space to brand and transform the look of your work companion with corporate sign writing. The Berlingo has 15” steel wheels as standard and offers a choice of 4 paint colours.
Interior
With the Berlingo, Citroën demonstrates that it is possible for a commercial vehicle to combine impressive functional qualities (load volume, payload, robust strength and economy) with attractive styling, comfort and acoustics similar to that of a passenger car.
On sitting behind the wheel of the Berlingo for the first time, the quality of the materials, finishings and dashboard design are worthy of a family saloon. But most importantly, this quality and design are intended to create the most user-friendly and comfortable work space possible. The excellent ergonomics are designed for ease of use and simple control to ensure maximum concentration on the road ahead. Basically, the Berlingo is intended to be driven as simply and easily as possible, and in total comfort.
Driving comfort and convenience
Ease yourself into the snug seats and you're in the perfect working environment, with plenty of light and space. The ergonomic seating, masterfully laid-out dashboard, and storage spaces for directories, stationery and beverages have all been designed for the business person who spends a lot of their time at the wheel.
The dashboard features a dash-mounted gearlever, and the height and reach adjustable steering wheel is surrounded by clear logical instruments and numerous storage compartments. The trip computer provides important information at the touch of a button such as average fuel consumption and distance travelled. The Berlingo can also be equipped with Bluetooth, allowing the driver to make and receive calls without losing their concentration or taking their eyes off the road. Similarly, the CD Radio system is equipped with remote audio controls mounted on the steering wheel.
The additional standard features below, are proof that the Berlingo ensures maximum levels of driving comfort and convenience.
- air conditioning
- cruise control
- speed sensitive power steering
- digital ‘head-up’ display
- electric windows & electrically operated & heated door mirrors
- height adjustable driver’s seat and height adjustable headrests
- height adjustable front seat belts (outer)
- reclining front seats, driver’s arm-rest and footrest
For the first time ever, the Berlingo will also be available thanks to an optional dual passenger seat, increasing seating capacity to 3 people. The optional passenger air-bag is of double width, ensuring that the middle passenger when seated in the dual passenger seat is also fully protected.
An easy load to bear
An increased payload and volume has been achieved in the Berlingo allowing for a huge payload ranging from 750kgs to 850kg (that's the equivalent to more than 40 bags of cement) and a cavernous volume capacity ranging from 3.3 - 3.7m³ . The low floor height makes light work of loading and the two rear doors can open to either 90° for narrow streets or almost 180º for greater cargo access and allows a full Australian size pallet to fit between the wheel hubs.
The addition, the optional sliding side door/s with a hold-open lock system makes kerb-side loading easier as it increases the rear door opening to almost 180º. There are also 6 load tie-down points allowing loads to be safely harnessed.
The well balanced chassis with its front and rear wheels set as far apart as possible ensures the Berlingo bears weight easily and handles well, regardless of what is on-board. The Berlingo is also powered by a 1.6 litre engine that has been tailored to commercial vehicle needs, giving it plenty of torque for pulling loads.
Professional storage
The Berlingo delivers adequate space for long hours spent on the road with a vast array of storage solutions. Everything needed is close to hand and easily stored away when required.
Gloveboxes - Twin gloveboxes, one located on the passenger side and a second one located on top of the dashboard behind the steering on the driver’s side.
Central storage - A removable central storage box is available and offers additional storage with a useful sliding cover.
Overhead storage - The overhead storage tray, which runs the full width of the cabin, is useful in keeping files and documents out of the way yet within easy reach.
Storage tray - A useful storage tray under the seat keeps items out of sight yet within easy reach.
